We are based in Charlotte, NC, and our mission is to foster creativity, provide education, and enhance community engagement through the arts. As part of our contribution package, we are seeking a talented web designer to help us enhance our online presence and better serve our community.

 

Job Description:

We are looking for a creative and experienced Web Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their web design skills and a passion for the arts. This position involves creating and maintaining our website, ensuring it is visually appealing, user-friendly, and effectively communicates our mission and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop visually engaging and user-friendly web pages for StarvingArts.org

  • Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to ensure cohesive and impactful online messaging

  • Implement best practices in web design, including responsive design, accessibility, and SEO

  • Maintain and update the website regularly to ensure it is current and functioning optimally

  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues in a timely manner

  • Provide creative input on website improvements and new features

  • Ensure all web design work aligns with Starving Arts’ brand guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • Proven experience as a web designer with a strong portfolio

  • Proficiency in web design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web design coding languages

  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress

  • Strong attention to detail and creativity

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience working with non-profits is a plus, but not required
